    The bill worked out like this: Missouri was admitted as a slave state and Maine was free. But in the jumbled mess the act helped hold the Union together for more than thirty years.

    Nat spread word that he was sick of all the abuse from slavery and wanted to flip the whole operation sideways. Around 55 slaves including himself killed roughly 60 white masters. Sadly he and his party were captured and executed, putting a stop to his rebellion. But made the abolitionists stronger then ever.

    Henry Clay introduced the compromise in order to hault the exspansion of slavery. Even though it gave the south the Fugitive slave act, it gave the North a better grip on them. The compromise made California a free state which helped the North greatly.

    Harriet Beecher Stowe’s book on the sad and horrible life as a slave really impacted the outlook on northern citizens. Abolitionists movements extremely increased making the south worried. This was the most important book of the Civil War!

    In 1846 a slave named Dred Scott sued for his freedom. By the time the case reached the high court, it had come to have enormous political implications for the entire nation. But sadly the efforts were all for nothing as the ruling was overturned. Making it the stupidest decision in the supreme court.

    John Brown marched his few men into Harpers Ferry, which was under manned and not well defended. His end goal was to free slaves and make a point, but sadly the slaves did not rise to his aid and he was quickly surrounded. He was tried and hanged Decemeber 2nd.

    Lincoln snatching up the election was one of the biggest upsets in the south. Which really pushed them to the limit. All the new bills and plans Lincoln had planned really boiled the southerns blood.
