    Nat Turner's Rebellion
    During this part of the story of the Civil War, Nat Turner and around seventy other people started to kill white people. They killed around 60 white people and as a result were executed. His rebellion was recorded as one of the bloodiest rebellions. This lasted two days until it was stopped.
  • Elijah P. Lovejoy

    Elijah P. Lovejoy
    Elijah was someone who was sadly killed by people who were supporting slavery. The cause of his death was that he was defending his newspaper stand of anti-slavery papers. This showed how someone died for an idea that was so important to them. He died on November 7, 1837 and eventually his death created more strength to the anti-slavery cause.

    Uncle Tom’s Cabin is also known as Life Among the Lowly. This story was by Harriet Beecher Stowe and was created towards the thought of anti-slavery. This story is one of the reasons why the Civil War happened. Contributing causes and information to the world. This story started to appear on June 5th of 1851.

    During this time period of 1855-1861, Kansas and some parts of Missouri underwent some mass dangerous activities. What happened was people started violently acting out in these areas. Thus creating the title, Bleeding Kansas. All the ruckus started because of the topic of slavery.

    During the John Brown’s Raid, John Brown decided to take matters into his own hands and cause much more of a disruption than what had occurred in the past. This raid started on October 16, 1859 and ended on the 18th of October, 1859. It occurred in Harpers Ferry located in West Virginia.

    Lincoln’s election was the biggest impact for the Civil War. This being because this election was one of the causes of the war. He was voted as the 16th president of the United States of America. He was someone that many people looked up to and hoped to become like.

    This event took place in South Carolina and lasted for around a day. This day consisted of consistent bombings and acts of violence. The first shot was fired by Major Robert Anderson. It ended on April 13, 1861. The result of this battle was the confederates winning but also resulted in multiple deaths.

    This battle was part of the turning points in the war. The result for this war was the confederates winning. During this battle, 35,000 Union troops marched along Bull Run which is a small river. The location of this battle was Fairfax County and started when the Union and Confederates clashed in Virginia.

    1862 was the start of when black soldiers were able to start enlisting into the military. This showed major change in history because there weren’t any black soldiers before that date since it was against the law. However, they did have some disadvantages such as pay. Racism also played a role in these situations.

    Shiloh is a battle that took place during April 6-7 of 1862. The location of the battle was fought in Hardin County located in Tennessee. As many as around 23,000 people were dead after the battle. The result of the battle was the Union winning. Shiloh is also known as the Battle of Pittsburg Landing.

    This battle is also known as the Battle of Sharpsburg. It took place in Sharpsburg, Maryland. The alternative name for this battle was usually said most in the Southern United States. This battle lasted 12 hours and ended with the Union’s victory. Five days later is when the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. It was also recorded as the deadliest battle.

    This battle was one major defeat for the Union Army since after the amounts of turning points and winnings they had, the Confederates were able to break the pattern. This battle took place during December 11-15 of 1862. It was in and around Fredericksburg in Virginia in the Eastern Theater

    This form was signed by Lincoln on September 22, 1862. This signed document would then help slaves be freed in ten states. This was what the Civil War was based upon. One side being the side trying to get slaves freed while the other disagreeing upon the idea. The side that wanted the slaves freed included Lincoln.

    This battle is considered one of the major battles of the American Civil War. The battle took place in Spotsylvania County in Virginia near the village of Chancellorsville. The end of the battle was May 6, 1863. The winning side was the Confederates. Therefore, of course, there were many deaths included.

    Again, this battle was known as the turning point of the Civil War. The victories being some of the reasons. This battle took place in Warren County, Mississippi. The result of this battle was called a decisive Union victory. The battle ended on July 4, 1863. Vicksburg is one of the turning points towards the Union’s side
  • Gettysburg

    This event took place in Pennsylvania in and around the town of Gettysburg. This war was the turning point as many say of the Civil War. The victory went to the Unions and George Maede. This war ended on July 3rd, 1863 again with multiple deaths and injuries on both sides.
  • Reconstruction

    The reconstruction mostly took place in the South for reasons such as the South being in a much worse condition after the war than the North. The reconstruction lasted for a very long time. The beginning date was December 8, 1863. The end date for the work was March 31, 1877.
  • Lincoln Assassination

    On April 4th, President Lincoln was shot and assassinated by John Wilkes Booth while watching a play. The location of the assassination was Ford’s Theatre in Washington D.C. The play he was attending was called Our American Cousin. What’s crazy is that Lincoln has had five assassination attempts before the final one.

    This event took place in Appomattox County, Virginia during the morning of April 9, 1865. It was held in a courthouse with many of those who participated in the Civil War. In the house, the Union won this event. This event only lasted one day and was the last of the war.
