    The fugitive slave act was an approval federal laws that allowed capture and return of runaway slaves within the United States . The underground railroad is a secret escaping system to help the slaves become free . Meanwhile many slaves didn't make it through the Underground Railroad . Some slaves were caught and sent back to their masters to be punished.

    The United States evenly divided between slave and free. The United States thought it was unequal to have the slaves and the free slaves together. The Missouri Compromise was criticized by many southerners because it was appointed that the south took over making laws and the Northern was in charge of the expansion of slavery.

Tom was loyal to his master and did what was best for him and his master. But a white man successfully managed to teach blacks an incorrect behavior . Meanwhile Harriet Beecher Stowe published a novel to " helped lay the groundwork for the civil war."

    The free states settlers expanded into Kansas to influence the decision. After awhile Kansas turn into a dangerous place .Things became very violence . John Brown led anti- slavery fighters fought in Kansas Before his farmed got raided on Harpers Ferry.

    Dred Scott went to trial to sue for freedom. He wanted their own slaves to expand into western territories. But the United States supreme court issuses a decision into the Dred Scott Case. During this time when some slaves were free they weren't consider a citizen in the united states and therefore they were not able to sue in federal court.

    The election was for the outbreak for the American Civil War. The democratic party supported all the wars within 1860. But Doglass lost the most support within the party. Abraham Lincoln tried to power his support without southern states opinion.

    The southern state led the civil war . The country started to divide between the north and south because of the states rights and disagreements over tariffs . But the biggest issue was dividing slavery . Southern figured that there was only a matter of time before the non-slaveholding states would give the government full control.
