It attracted “like-minded whites” who formed the NAACP for African Americans. -

An organization that represents colored people, people with disabilities, religious groups, and gays/ lesbians. The marched and would participate in other activities that protect human rights. It won passage of the civil rights act. -
Montgomery Bus Boycott

It was a protest for African Americans. They refused to ride buses in Montgomery, Alabama. They were protesting the segregation with bus seats. -
Civil Rights Act

Eisenhower’s presidency started with the civil rights act and voting rights. He never publicly was known for his support in the civil right because he believed people couldn’t change their beliefs. Later it was said he only did it to win “black votes” -
Freedom Ride

Student-led sit-its were followed by an interracial group called Journey of Recolintion who rode interstate buses. They did this to test the enforcement of the supreme court. -
