  • Murder of Emmitt Till

    Murder of Emmitt Till
    Emmett Till was a 14 year old boy that was brutally killed by Roy Bryant and his brother in law, J.W Milian. It was August 25th when Emmett and his cousins went to the grocery store to by soda pop. The lady at the register was a white lady, and she had said that Emmett had sexually harassed her and that he had grabbed her. Which is a lie. Emmett had only whistled at the lady. A couple days later he was killed. He was then found 3 days later in the River.
  • Rosa Parks/ Bus boycott

    Rosa is arrested for failing to move seats on the bus. She is fined $10. MILK Jr. and church sent out flyers to boycott the bus system on Dec. 5th. The bus ran empty for 381 days. The Supreme Court ruled the bus had to let blacks ride.

    The Governor of Arkansas call out the National Guard to stop them. President Eisenhower calls1200 militar men 46 to escort these students from have to class, 1959 all schools fully Integrated.

    lunch counter. They were refused service a were told to leave but they refused and they stayed. Day after day, the came and did the same-thing. The amount of students over the days to 1,000.
    -They lost grew $1.8 million so they just served the black community.

    A diverse group of volunteers from 39 states, most Were college students. Arrived in Anniston, Alabama blocked by KKK.Tires slashed, fire bombed, buses burned and beating, town after town.
