    the court case that said that blacks were not American citizens and could not sue in fed courts. they also did not have the rights to be an American

    the end of slavery you could no longer own a slave. if you own a slave you will be charged with a crime. this was a big deal for the African American because they were enslaved and they finally could be "Free"

    the amendment that said if you are born in the united states then you are a citizen and this even went for formally enslaved people. this was a huge deal for slaves because if they had kids then there kids would be known has united states citizens

    the 15 amendment is your right to vote shall not be taken away because of your race or color. this was a very big deal for those of color because it gave people of color the right to vote which is a very basic privilege in America.

    Court ruled that racial segregation laws did not violate the U.S. Constitution as long as the facilities for each race were equal in quality this was big because it meant that the Jim crow laws were fine even though stuff wasn't "separate but equal"
