Mapp V. Ohio
Cleveland police raided Dollree Mapp’s home without a warrant and found obscene
materials. the 4th and 14th amendment should have protected her from the improper police behavior -
Engel V. Vitale
The board of Regents for the State of New York authorized a short voluntary prayer for recitation at the start of each school day. This was thought to violate the establishment of religion clause of the first amendment. -

The Feminine Mystique is a 1963 book by Betty Friedan which is known for its Feminism. -
The 24th Amendment
Prohibits poll tax in elections for federal officials. -

Griswold V. Connecticut
This case centered around a state law that outlawed birth-control. This violates the 14th Amendment. -
Civil Rights Act of 1968
AKA Fair Housing Act of 1968 Prohibits unlawful discrimination in housing based on race, color, sex, natural origin. -
Tinker V. Des Moines
A group students in Des Moines held a meeting in the home of Christopher Echardt to plan a public show of their truce support in the vietnam war they were suspended from school because they were supporting at school, this violates their 1st Amendment -
Furman V. Georgia
Furman was a burglar and was caught stealing in a home, while trying to flee he tripped and fell and his gun went off killing a resident. He was given the death penalty. This was unconstitutional. -
Craig V. Boren
An Oklahoma law prohibiting the sale of beer to males under 21 and females under 18. A male who was between the age and a licensed vendor challenged the law as discriminatory -
United Steel Workers of America V. Weber
This was a case regarding affirmative action in which the U.S. Supreme court held that the Civil Rights Act of 1964 didn’t allow favoring of women or minorities. -
Civil Rights Act of 1991
Price Waterhouse V. Hopkins (1989) and Wards Cove Packing Co. V. Antonio (1989). Maximum award of compensation and punitive damages combined was set at $300,000 for the largest employers (more than 500 employees) -

Grutz V. Bollinger
Jennifer Gratz had a proper GPA while applying to the the University of Michigan’s college of Lit. and Science and Arts. She was not accepted because of her race. This violates the Equal protection clause of the 14th amendment. -
Grutter V. Bollinger
A policy at the Michigan’s law school considered race as a factor for applicants, which can be discriminating. -
Lawrence V. Texas
In Houston, Texas there was a law against any sexual act between the same sexes. This violated the 14th Amendment.
