The "Little Rock Nine" students enter a white public school
Nine Black students were not allowed to enter a desegregated school. This raised outrage around the wrold and trops were sent to the school. This caught the attention of the people world wide and was famous. -
Sit-ins begin
College students would go to a restruant and wait until they were served. These demonstartions were peaceful and also brough change. Was a huge boost towarsd the Civil movement. -
Freedom Rides
The blacks once again were peaceful and attempted to use segregates facilities in the South. They were beaten and and hurt, recieving world wide attention. This then led to the prohibitation of segregation in interstate transit terminals. This was important as yet again the African Americans were gaining their rights. -
Birmingham Protests
Birmingham was the worst place for racism towards African Americans. The protests gathered lot's of atention as the police used lots of violence. This then in the end improved life for African Americans and a big step for African American rights. -
March on Washington
This march was important as it highlighted the African American cause. In addition to this Martin Luther King Jr gave his famous"I have a Dream"speech. A very big marsh to show African American UNity. -
Voting Rights Act of 1965
It was signed by Lyndon B.Johnson. It removed any restrictions on voting, thatt didn't allow blacks to vote. This was was Blacks were campaining all along for ... Equality.
