13th Amendment
It is important because the 13th Amendment freed all of the slaves that were in the South. It also banned Slavery from every happening again. -
14th Amendment
The 14th Amendment is important becasue it granted all of the freed slaves equal protection under the law in the United States. Which means they have all the rights as a regular US citizen -
15th Amendment
THe fifeteeth Amendment is important because it gave all men the right right to vote, but it was hard for black to vote because of the Jim Crow laws that were passed. -

The Jim Crow laws are important because the said that blacks had seperated things like water fountains and school, but when it came to voting they made poll taxes and literacy test the blacks in the south had to do for them to be able to vote. -

the 19th Amendment is is important to women's suffrage because it granted women the right to vote which was another step in getting equal rights. -

Brown v Board of Education
It is an Important court case because it ended up overturming the Plessy v Ferguson concpet "seperate but equal" was unconstitutional because it is not equal if they are spilt up from each other. So school were not segregated anymore. -

It is important becasue it started with Rosa Parks when she refused to give up her to a white man so she was arrested then the black community started to boycott the bus system and they started to do other things in the community that were non-voilence. -
Ruby Bridges
She was important because she was a little black girl that was going to school and white people were threating her, so they escorted her into the school for her education and then white parents pulled their kids out of her class. so was one of the kids in a intergrated school. -

Affirmative action is the favoring of members of a disadvantage group who are percieved to suffer to dicrimination or within a culture. -
24th Amendment
The 24th Amendment is important because it got rid of all the poll taxs that ere in the south so blacks had a hard time trying ot vote. Now blacks could vote on a more equal scale. -
Civil Rights Act of 1964
the civil rights act was important becasue it outlawed that you could discriminate against someone race, color, religion, sex, or natural origin. -

The voting rights act 1965 was important because it banned that anyone can vote and you cant discriminate just based on their race or color. -

This case was important because it was dealing with the marriage of a black women and a White male. The court didnt recongize it because it was an interracial marriage. The supreme sourt decided to overturn past law so interacial marriage were allowed and were this happened there were more marrages that were interracial. -

This is important because just a few days after MLK was killed Robert Kennedy gave a speech how MLK was changing the world with the way he was dealing with the civil rights movement. This speech happened in Indianaapolis. -

This case was important because it said that if someone dies they can not give all the money to one person, they have to give some sort of money to each of the spouse in the family. In this case reed got all the money and mrs. reed didn't like it so they went to court and he was told to give her some of that money. -

it was acourt case that said the race can be a part of the several factors that in college admission, but thye couldn't be denied just based on their race when they were applying. -
Equal Rights Amendment
This was important because it gave women the chance that they wnated. It gave women all of the same rights that men had in the United States had as citizens. So they could work, vote, buy a house, or do want ever, but really they still weren't equal as men. -

this case was overturned in 2003, after it upheld that because of Georgia law criminalizing oral and anal sex in private between when applied to homosexuals. -
