Sherman’s victory in Atlanta boosted Lincoln’s popularity and helped him win re-election. This was a very important moment in the war. -
Lincoln Assasination
The final event in the Civil War happened on the evening of April 14th 1865. President Lincoln went to the Ford Theater to see a play a few days after the end of the war. While the play was happening, John Wilkes Booth shot the President. Thenext morning the President passed.
