The Council of Chalcedon
The Council of Chalcedon was held in October 8, 451 A.D. The significance of Council of Chalcedon is that, it provided evidence that Jesus Christ is he is the both the Son of God and Son of Man. The evidence came from the Bible (1 John 5:10 and Mark 14:21). The council affirmed the personality of Christ and perfection of both human and divine. They also stated that Jesus could have not have saved us unless he was fully God and fully man. -

East-West Schism
The East-West schism was a split and division caused by differences in beliefs and opinions. The leaders of that Orthodox and Catholic did not accept the other leader's option of religion and beliefs, and this caused them to split into two religions. -

The Black Death
The Black Death was a fatal disease that spread throughout the world, starting in Asia and traveled to Europe. It was basically fleas that lived in the rats. There were severe population loss around the world. Many people joined the church because they wanted to hope of living from that disease and they were praying. -

Martin Luther was an Augustinian friar, he became a lecturer on the Bible. When Pope Leo X and the Archbishops began to use the indulgences to pay for the church that was built, Martin Luther objected. The reformation happened because of Martin Luther king and it was a change for the

The Council of Trent 1545-1563
The Council of Trent decided to make few changes. They kept the Latin translation of the Bible, art and ritual were maintained. Things they changed:
-No more indulgences
-Every diocese had to have a seminary -
The First Vatican Council 1860-1870
Blessed Pius IX gathered all the bishops. He was teaching all 744 bishops about the Catholic church. And also he told them that as the true successor of St Peter, he has the supreme power over the whole church. -
The Second Vatican Council 1962-1965
The Second Vatican Council was held between 1962 and 1965.
The Church met to address some of the issues that were present in world society after World War II
Some of these issues include:
*Violations of human freedom
*Formation of The United Nations in 1945
*World poverty
*The arms race and its threat to world peace
*Global migration for peace and freedom
