    The Jews had started to revolt against the Romans. The Romans attacked Jerusalem. The siege of Jerusalem was an important event because it made the Christians stand up apart from the Jews. They started to have to decide who they really were.

    The council was called together by the Emperor of Rome. The council was made to decide if God the father was greater then Jesus or the same as Jesus. It also started intermixing of church and state.

    At this council they decided who Christ was. They decided that he was one man with two natures fully God and fully man. This shows that we can live in the world and in God.

    This was a rule book for monks. It shows that many people were trying to become monks. They did not want any distractions to keep them from their faith. The monks helped to preserve the Church.

    This was the first split in the church. The argument that split the church was mostly over the power of the papal. This showed that the people could have differant veiw points on the bible but still be Christians.

    Martin Luther had been writing books against the Roman Catholic church. The Emperor of Rome sent for Luther to be held on trial for his beliefs. They asked him to recant his beliefs but he would not unless they showed him his faults through the bible.

    The Weslys almost died from a fire in their house. After that they gave their lives to God. One of them became a preacher and the other a hymm writer. They traveled all over Europe to tell people about God. This shows how the church started to become practical for the average man.

    A council of missionaries called together at the United Free Church in Scotland. They met to decide how they were going to bring the bible to all nations. this shows that even though the church had split it still had the same goals.

    Coronation of Charles King of the Franks
    The pope crowned King Charles, King of the Franks. This showed how the church had grown to be very influential in the goverment. It showed that the pope had enough power to appoint kings. The pope had more power than the king.
