The Zhou Dynasty
In about 1050B.C people called the Zhou had formed an alliance with other tribes nearby and overthrew the Shang dynasty. They justified their conquest and claimed that the Shang were not fit to rule. This has happened many times in China's history. The Zhou dynasty ended in about 256BC. -

Confucianism
In the philosophy of Confucianism, it mainly influenced the Chinese life than any other. A person, Confucius taught the importance of family, respect of elders, and the reverence for the past and one's ancestors. Confucius tried to end political disorder. He tried to encourage strong, positive behavior on the Chinese leaders. This all started in about 479BC. -

Legalism
Legalism is a philosophy of administration that was in ancient China. This started in 300BCE and ended in 200BCE. -

Buddhism
Buddhism was another great influence on China. It was about 213BC when this came around to China. This had a lasting effect on China, eventually other kingdoms started adopting Chinese ways. -

Daoism is a religious tradition. This also deeply influenced Chinese culture. It started in about 6th century BC. This grew quickly in 200CE-700CE -

The Shang Dynasty
The Shang Dynasty started because between 1750BC and 1500BC invaders called the Shang swept into Huang River Valley. The Shang introduced simple flood-control, this may be the reason why the Shang rule was strengthened. The actual Shang dynasty started in 1600BC. Some weapons that were popular during this time were bronze, such as spears or knives.
