China's emperor had the Terra Cotta warriors accompany him at his grave. More than 700,000 artisans were contracted into sculpting these fascinating statue warriors. -

This was the second imperial dynasty known to China. The Xiongnu kept trying to invade China. -

Taizong was the first Chinese Emperor to control the Northern Steppe. In 660, Gaozong suffered a stroke. In 841, there was a massive suppression of Buddhism and other foreign religions. -

Taizu was the first commoner to become Emperor in 1,500 years. He became a monk at 16. Taizu made policies that favored the poor over the rich. -

This is one of China's most interesting sites. The Forbidden City is located right in the center of Bejing. It was the home for the emperors during the Ming and Qing dynasties. -
