Child Labor Laws were passed during this time which made it so that children did not have to work ridiculously long hours. This gave them more time to focus on their education and become more interested in literature. -

This was a publishing house that dedicated their time to publishing children's books. Louise Bechtel Seaman was now in charge of this publishing house and helped them stay motivated to create more children's books. -

During the 1920s and 1930s picture books were all the rage and many were beign published during this time. -

Helen Dean Fish and May Masse were the first two women editors who worked at two different publishing companies. -
Bertha Mahoney & Elenor Whitney
These two women were in charge of the publisher Bookshop for Boys and Girls. They helped publish Horn Book Magazine. -

This is also another award that was created to give to authors that met the expectations. -
Chilren's Books
between 1940 and 1960 childrens books were in high demand. They could be found anywhere from school, the library and homes. Even publishers were eager to find more books. -
Harriet Rohmen
Rohmen was disappointed in the lack of diverse books so to solve the problem she created the Childrens Book Press whose goal was to publish picture books that encouraged diversity. -
Just Us Books
This was another small publisher that was interested in increasing the amount of diverse books that were available to children. -
Bishop
He conducted a study that showed that only 3-4 % of books were about or written by people of color or diverse backgrounds. -
May Masse
Masse opened a book store dedicated to children's books. Not too long after this did many other authors begin to allso open book stores.
