    Cesar Chavez was an American farm worker, labor leader and civil rights activist, who, with Dolores Huerta, co-founded the National Farm Workers Association. Cesar dedicated his life to improving the treatment, pay, and working conditions of workers on grape farms. This union joined with the Agricultural Workers Organizing Committee in its first strike against grape growers in California in 1965. Cesar has played a huge role in the improvement of farm workers and of imigrantas from other places

Mexican American children were segregated into "Mexican" schools so 500 parents of Mexican American children, including Mendezes, united against sgregation in their school district. Federal judge Paul McCormic in favor of Mendezes because segregation was violating the Fourteenth Amendment.

    Cesar Chavez founds the NFWA, starts strike against grape growers
    Cesar Chaves found the National Farm Workers Organizing Committee in order to help Lations farm workers. Because of bad working conditions and poor pay, Cesar led a 300-mile march. They also boycotted Californian grapes which spead across North America. The result was that union workers were guaranteed higher wages and other benefits.
