Barometer
Evangelista Torricelli invented the barometer, but an itailian mathimatician named Gasparo Berti unitemtially built a water barometer between 1640 and 1643. A barometer is used to measure atmospheric pressure. It uses water, air, or mercury to measure the amount of preasure exerted by the atmosphere. http://www.timetoast.com/timelines/chemistry-timeline--21/edit http://www.jjohnsonappraisals.com/pages_B/barometer.html -
NItrogen
Discovered by Daniel Rutherford, nitrogen is in all living organisms. At standerd tempiture and pressure nitrogen does not react. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nitrogen http://www.eoearth.org/images/161331/nitrogen.jpg image-http://www.eoearth.org/article/Nitrogen -

He was an english chemist who helped discover th atomic theory. Also in 1794 he researched and wrote his first paper on colour blindness http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Dalton http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Dalton_John_desk.jpg -
Thomas Thomson
Thomas was a Scottish Chemist. In 1820 he identified a new zeolite mineral named thomsonite. Ernest Rutherford
He was a british chemist and known as the father of nulear physics. In 1911, he came up with the idea that atoms have their positive charge concentrated in a very small nucleus. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ernest_Rutherford http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Ernest_Rutherford_cropped.jpg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Ernest_Rutherford_cropped.jpg -
Niels Bohr
In 1922, Bohr was awarded the Nobel Prize in physics. In 1943 Bohr was flown to Las Angeles to work in a top secret lab on the Manhattan Project his role was basically the father confessor. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niels_Bohr http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Niels_Bohr.jpg -
Fertilizer
fertilizers have been around since the 19th century, but the first controled release of fertilizer was in 1936. The first fertilizer was a mixter of Urea and formaldehyde. Then in 1955 it was comercialized starting the sale of fertilizer to today. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fertilizer http://www.orau.org/ptp/collection/consumer%20products/fertilizer.jpg -
