Stanton's Plan
Edwin Stanton is planning a manhunt to look for and capture the people who were a part of the assassination. Since he is secretary of war, he has the power to do this. He sends out troops of all sorts to find Lincoln's assassin. -
Conspirator Meeting
At 8:00pm John Wilkes Booth meets with fellow conpirators to make a plan to kill President Lincoln, Vice President Johnson, and Secretary of State Seward. -
Booth's Schedule
Booth went to Ford's Theatre first to make sure the president had been there. After he knew for sure he went to the Saloon next door to have a drink. Booth had known the whole play and excactly how long it went on. He knew his whole schedule. -
Lincoln's Assasination
John Wilkes Booth snuck up to the president's box suprised to see that there were no guards, no one to stop him from killing the president. He listened to Lincoln's last words and shot. Lincoln fell forward. Booth jumped on stage and claimed the south was free. -
Seward's Attempted Assasination
Lewis Powell claimed he had medicine for the secretary of state because of his recent carrige accident, this was beliveable. There was no suspician until he refused for Seward to take the medicine without letting him give it to him. Lewis Powell got in to the room and shot his son first. Then broke his gun making him unable to shoot Seward. -
Dr.Leal's Attempt to Recover Lincoln
At the time of Lincoln's assasination, Dr.Leal had been there. Obviously he was a doctor and knew how to treat Lincoln. He knew he wouldnt live long, but he didnt want him to die in the theatre. They were planning to take Lincoln back to the White House, but he wouldnt survive the trip due to all the bumps in the road. They ended up taking him to a boarding house in Maryland where he would die away from the theatre, a place of entertainment. -
Death of Abraham Lincoln
At 7:22 am president Abraham Lincoln died. Unfortunately he was not able to die in the White House. Instead of dying in the theatre he died in the Peterson House -
Booth's Journey to Virginia
John Wilkes Booth was planning on going to Virginia in hopes he wouldn't be caught by the manhunters. He stayed at people' s places including Samuel Mudd, Captain Cox, and John Garret. -
Powell's Arrest
Lewis Powell is caught and arrested. -
Atzerodt's Arrest
George Adzerotdt is caught and arrested. -
Booth's Death
When the manhunters arrived at the place they were hiding. Herold and Booth were in the tobacco barn locked in. Booth was asking to be killed so he wouldn't have to suffer through trial, and hanging. They wanted to bring Booth back to Stanton for evidence, but no one was told to hold their fire. Booth was shot in the neck and killed by Boston Corbett. -
Conspirators Hanging
The people involved in Lincoln's Assassination were hung. Mary Surratt, Lewis Powell, George Atzerodt, and David Herold.
