  • French and Indian War

    French and British fight over American land. Specificaly the Ohio river valley.

  • Treaty of Paris

    Marked official end of the French and Indian War.

  • Proclamation of 1763

    This proclaimed all land west of appalachian mountains as indian reserves.

  • Sugar Act

    imposed taxes on sugar, coffee, and reduced taxes on molasses

  • Stamp Act

    Placed a tax on a wide variety of legal documents and printed matter.

  • Townshend Act

    Taxed cloth, lead, glass, paper, and tea.

  • Boston Massacre

    British troops shot and killed 5 colonists. Sparked colonists rebelion.

  • Boston Tea Party

    Sons of Liberty, dressed as Indians, boarde three ships and threw 342 chests of tea into Boston harbor.

  • Lexington and Concord

    The first battles of the fight for American independance.

  • Declaration of Independance

    Document stating American independance from Birtain.

  • Battle of Saratoga

    Bristish defeat. Brought France into war.

  • Battle of Yorktown

    Final British defeat that meant independance for America

  • Independance gained

    Official end of war and beginning of American independance.
