President McKinley was assassinated, and so his Vice President, Teddy R, became president in his place. -

An organization that fought for better living and working conditions for the segregated population. -
Publication of the Jungle
The book “The Jungle” by Upton Sinclair is published creating a controversy while also raising awareness for factory conditions and meat packaging issues. -
Creation of the Food and Drug administration
The job of this group was to increase precautions when it came to working and packaging food. -
Passage of Meat inspection Act
This came to be as a result of The Jungle, as if it raised awareness for the unhealthy conditions in which the meat was processed. -
16th Amendment Ratified
This allowed the government to collect taxes from the public without any (or so they thought) pushback. -

The building went up in flames, showing the true lack of safety in factories. -

This decided that the senate of each state would be composed of two senator members by election of the people. -
Woodrow Wilson elected president
In the election of 1912, he defeated Charles Evans Hughes, making him the 33rd president of the US. -
Federal Reserve Act established
The Federal Reserve became the main bank of the United States. -

18th Amendment ratified
Alcohol was prohibited as far as the trade, transportation and of course, consumption of it in any way goes. This was revoked in 1992, obviously. -
Ratification of the 19th Amendment
Stated that people were not to be denied their rights based on their gender. -
