    Constantinople

    • The emperor Constantine began his rule of the enormous Roman Empire in A.D. 306.
    • Constantine chose Byzantine to make a city there which he renamed it Constantinople. (The city of Constantine.)
    • In the early 1200's, Constantinople was attacked by Christian crusaders.
    • In 1453, a force about 70000 Turks surrounded Constantinople They brought cannons to attack.
    • The Empire fell, but the new rulers would make Constantinople a new, and imperial city. Just like Constantine.
