Jamestown
In late 1606 Virginia Company's three ships landed near Chesapeake bay, where the Indians attacked them. On May 24th, 1607 about a hundred English settlers disembarked on a mosquito-infested site and called it Jamestown in honor of their king. -

Pope's Rebellion
