It started after the Civil War in 1865 and ended in 1877. That is when the Reconstruction period began. Abraham Lincoln started to plan for the reconstruction of the South during the civil war. He tried to make peace and reunite the Union and the Confederacy. However, the southern made that hard. -

The Civil Rights Act of 1865 started on April 9,1865. It was to set rights for all the U.S citizens. The reason for this was for all the citizens to be equally protected by law. United States was the first federal law to define citizenship. -
Ratification of the Fifteenth Amendment
On February 26,1869 the Congress passed the 15th amendment but on Feburary 3, 1870 it was finally signed. The 15th amendment was to give the right to African American men the right to vote. -

The Dawes Act was taken by the Congress in 1887. The Congress gave the President of the United States permission to survey American Indian tribal. After the western migrated the U.S government took control of native lands. The federal government is the one that separates the tribes. -

Another name for the Formation of the Populist Party is the People's Party. The Formation of the Populist Party was formed from a third party. They supported the common man. The leaders were James B. Weaver, William Jennings Bryan, and Thomas E. Watson. -
Depression of 1893/ Panic of 1893
Another name for Depression of 1893 is Panic of 1893. The reason for this depression was the collapse of the railroad overbuilding. They built the railroad industry thinking it was going to be successful. -
Industrial Revolution
The Industrial Revolution lasted from 1870 to 1914. Happened during the late 18th century. The three main men who were in charge and gave jobs where J.P. Morgan, John D. Rockefeller, and Andrew Carnegie. They wanted to give there people jobs. The Industrial Revolution took place in Europe and America. -
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People
The NAACP was the civil rights organization in the United States of America. The reason for the Civil Rights movement was to give all African Americans equal rights. Such as, freedom and to be treated equally. African Americans deserved to be treated equally. They made this movement which took them a while but at the end they got what they wanted. -
The United States Children's Bureau
The reason for the United States Children Bureau was to prevent child abuse, adoption, and foster care. They wanted to put a stop to it. This organization was the first federal agency within the U.S government. William Howard Taft is the one that established the Children's Bureau. -
Womens Suffrage
The women suffrage was confirmed on August 18, 1920. The women suffrage was in the 19th amendment. The women's suffrage was to give the women the right to vote. Women wanted to have the same rights men did. They wanted to be treated equally. The same rights men had they wanted for themselves the American women. The main activist in the women suffrage was Susan B. Anthony. The Women's suffrage took place in Washington, D.C. -
The Great Depression
The Great Depression last for exactly 10 years from 1929-1939. The Great Depression was a big disaster for everyone. It started when the stock market crashed. In those 10 years everyone was losing everything. Such as, houses, land, and farms. That's when Wall Street lost million of investors.
