    Former Plantation Slaves return to plantations for work
    The civil war had ended in 1865, as a result many African Americans were released from slavery as stated by the 13th amendment. This was a huge step in societal change for the south. Unfortunately Most African Americans at the time couldn't find any jobs at the time because they were uneducated and was bombarded with prejudice within the south. Most of the previous slaves ended up going back to plantation owners.

    In 1869 there was a revolutionary change in terms of transportation with the use of railroads. This change in transportation also inspired an easier way for trade within the United States. This made travel relatively easy to the average citizen as they could now go to different parts of the country in a matter of days

    A social change that was most prevalent in the 1900’s was the introduction of jazz and ragtime music although jazz was originally invented in 1895 it wouldn't grow into popularity until the early 1900’s although it wasn't exactly liked by a lot of the general public mainly because it's inception was brought by African Americans. Jazz music also inspired many cultural changes such as many dances inspired by the music itself that was very popular in clubs at the time.

    In 1908 the first popular car was invented called the ford model T. These cars were revolutionary in terms of economic and social factors. These incentivized a new way of travel around cities. Inspiring roads to be created just for cars within the cities. The ford model T also invented jobs because since they were such a high selling product it created the need for mass production.The cars were affordable and became high in demand which created jobs. The car's design was simple and easy to use.

    In 1920 the radio was invented this was a monumental achievement in terms of communication with humans at the time. News was a lot more accessible at the time because of this invention. It was also very popular among housewives of the time because of the fact they stayed home all the time and wanted some form of entertainment. The impact that the radio has had inspired so many other inventions as evident of our present day. It would be hard to image where we are without this useful invention.

    The Great Depression was due to many economic factors leaving millions of people in the country without money. In this time period no bank was secured or backed up by the government so the banks could use your money anyway they wanted. In 1929, the stock market crashed, creating a large amount of economic panic within the people. People started to commit suicide because of the loss of money, socially it was very hard to live in this time because of the vast poverty.
