Isabel and Ruth arrive in New York after two days and two nights on a ship and meet another slave name Curzon. -

Isabel starts spying on Master Lockton when he starts talking about the war. -

Because Ruth has a fit in the kitchen, Madam thinks the devil is inside Ruth and threatens to have her sold. -

Madam Lockton sells Ruth. -
Run
After Ruth was sold, Isabel tries to run away but is caught. -
Branded
After spending two days in a dungeon, Isabel gets the letter "I" branded on her cheek for trying to run away. -
Recovery
After sleeping for six days through a fever, Isabel wakes up to Master Lockton's aunt, Lady Seymour, caring for her. -
Curzon Joins Army
To recieve freedom Curzon joins the rebel army in place for his master. -
Invasion
The British Army invades and take over New York. -
Working for the Aunt
After the British invaded, Lady Seymour was forced to house many officers so Isabel was sent to work for her. -
New York Fire
In the middle of the night there was a fire that burnt down hundreds of houses including Lady Semour's where Isabel had to rescue Lady Seymour from the fire. -
More Generals
Because the fire had burnt down many houses in which British generals lived in, the Locktons had more generals and their wife move in with them. -
Curzon's Captured
Curzon is captured when defending a fort and is taken to a prison with many other soldiers. -
Visiting the Prison
Isabel visits Curzon in the prison and brings food for him and the other soldiers. -
Freedom
Isabel and Curzon run away to New Jersey. -
The Truth of Ruth
As Madam Lockton was yelling, she told Isabel that Ruth was not sold and in Charleston, NC. -
Sneaky Isabel
Isabel pretends to do work for the prison, but instead she escapes Curzon from prison.
