Aristotle
He disected animals to see what they were like on the inside. He did lots of research on the seas and took lots of obervations and interpretations and mixed them with the myths with them. He proved the cell theory to be right in ways with structure. -
Zacharias Jansen
He invented the first optical telescope. He also claimed that he made the telescope. Along with these things, a microscope. This helped the sight of seeing things at a microscopic level for study of how things worked and looked. It also helped people with bad eyesight. -
Jan Baptist van Helmont
He is remembered for his ideas of spontaneous generation and his introduction of the word "gas". He even wrote about about digestion. This applies to the cell theory in ways that allow gases to be known from the production in plants. -
Robert Hooke
He published a book that described all of the observations he made while using a microscope. Hooke coined the term cell for these organisms that he saw. He essentially discovered the thing that the cell theory is over. -
Anton van Leeuwenhoek
He is known as the father of microbiology. He was also considered to be the first microbiologist. He was most known for his improvement of the microscope which led to many inventions and discoveries in microbiology. It can apply to the cell theory by adding his improvements to be able to advance the science itself. -
Robert Brown
He pioneered the use of the microscope. He described the cell nucleus and cytoplasm. He viewed plant pollination. -
Lorenz Oken
He made that there were only 5 types of animal classes based on their structure and how they behaved. This applies to the cell theory because he determined that things are differently formed and that makes them able to sustain life. -
Theodor Schwann
He developed the cell theory itself. He also invented the term metabolism. He observed animal cells under a microscope and he found a difference in the nervous and muscular tissues. -
Albrecht von Roellilker
He made major contributions in zoology. He had remarkable discoveries in embryology, especially with vertebrates and amphibians. He studied them at a microscopic level, which gave people the idea that they could look at cells and understand structure. -
Rudolf Virchow
He is known as the father of modern pathology. He published a book about Cellular Pathology and it is seen as the major foundation of modern pathology. He made the theory that all cells come from living cells. -
Matthias Schleiden
He is co-founder of the cell theory. He would always prefer to study plants under a microscope, which would give a large play into how we would view cells in modern times. -
Louis Pasteur
He is known for his principles of vaccinations and fermentation. He was the first to be known to prevent diseases and saved countries from deathly illnesses. He did a lot to prove that leaving bacteria to grow would affect the cells in what they did
