Samuel Bilewu Joseph Oshoffa was the founder of The Celestial Church of Christ. He was born in Dahomey, now Benin, Africa, and was a carpenter. Oshoffa was instructed to find a place for a church. He searched for months until he stumbles upon a spot. Once he arrived, he suddenly felt empowered with the gift of healing and prophecy. In that very spot, he began to heal others. Thus, The Celestial Church of Christ was born, and he remained the highest power until he died in 1985. -

Samuel was requested to find a place for a Church. For three months, he journeyed across Africa until he received a revelation. On this day, there was a solar eclipse, and he suddenly became devoted to pray, heal, and raise the dead. -

Foundation and Faith Begins to Spread
Oshoffa begins to spread the faith of The Celestial Church of Christ when he travels to Lagos, Nigeria. He establishes and creates a Consitution, structure, and scriptural foundations of religion and religion to rapidly spreads across Nigeria. -
Offical Recogination of the Church
In 1965, the Republicans of Dahomey(now Benin) officially recognized and authorized The Celestial Church of Christ. -
Evangelistic Campaign Begins
With the rapid spread and recoginization of the religion, The Celestial Church of Christ begins an evangelistic campaign in the French West of Africa. Eventually, branches will be founded across the world including the USA, Germany, and the United Kingdom. -
Death of Samuel Bilewu Joseph Oshoffa
At the age of 76, Samuel, unfortunately, passed away in a car accident. His death left the Church with difficulties in its succession, due to his hegemonic doctrine. This lead to threatening to split the religion and creating multiple setbacks for the Church. -
Second Pastor: Alexander Abiodun Adebayo Bada
Alexander Abiodun Adebayo Bada became the second paster after Oshoffa's death in 1985. Bada held this position until his death on September 8th, 2000. -
Internet Influnces the Church
In the late 1990s, The Celestial Church of Christ began to use the internet. They use the Internet to communicate and keep in touch with everyone and in the headquarters of the religion which, is in Nigeria. -
Third Pastor: Philip Hunsu Ajose
Philip Hunsu Ajose became the third pastor and briefly led the religion until he died in 2001. -
Church Hits A Mildstone
In 2001, the Celestial Church of Christ hits a milestone. With its increase in believers, it becomes the second largest church in Benin with branches across the world. -
The Fourth Pastor: Emmanuel Mobiyina Oshoffa
Emmanuel Mobiyina Oshoffa becomes the fourth pastor of the church and maintains his position to this day. -
Celestial Church of Christ Miracle Land Parish Opened
A branch of The Celestial Church of Christ Miracle Land Parish was open in 2004. The church is located on 2009 Howard St; and It is one of the modern branches founded in the USA, specifically Chicago.
