Missouri Compromise of 1820
It allowed missouri to be a Slave state and Maine to be a Free state, and it made states north of 36 30 degrees Free States and tates south of it Slave States. -
Nulification
December 10, 1832 President Andrew Jackson decalred the South Carolina tariff acts of 1828 and 1832 unauthorized by the constutution and null and void because Jackson's vice president though they benifeted North manufactured interest at the expense of the Southern Farmers. -
Compromise of 1850
The compromise of 1850 Let the Territories of Utah, New Mexico, and Mexico Vote if they would be free of slave states by popular sovereignty, and also it passed the Fugitive Slave Act which made runnaway slaves return to their masters even if they got in a free state. -
Kansas-Nebraska Act
the act let the residents of each territory decide by popular sovereignty if they would be Free or Slave states. -
Dred Scot Case
A case that lasted 10 years in which dred scott was filing for his freedom because his master and him went a free state so he wanted to ahve freedom, but his case went to the surpreme court were Cheif Justice Roger Tancy said he was black so he was not a citizen so he could not sue. -
Election of 1860
In the election of 1860 the Democrats split in half over chosing a canidate because of salvery, and the republicians chos Abraham Lincoln who ultimately won.
