Slavery in America was a huge effect in the civil war. Slavery lasted for 250 years. Slavery was mostly happening in the south in 1793. Abolitionist started to grow in the north witch did not want slavery. South owned most slaves because most north did not want slavery. That caused the south and the north to divide in to different groups the South and the North. Both the North and the South got mad from wanting slavery and not wanting slavery that's why it was an effect to the civil war. -
The Missouri Compromise
The Missouri Compromise of 1820 was one of the reasons the civil war started. The Missouri Compromise made slave holding fair but the slaveholders were scared that they would lose their rights and be out number. In 1819 Missouri admission to the union and that means that they joined the union. This was the Northern states idea because they thought that the southern states already had to much power .Also the southern states had more people that gave them a advantage to win the congress. -

Harriet Tubman was a part of the civil war. Harriet Tubman was born 1820 and she died 1913. She was a conductor in the under ground railroad she also played a role at being a nurse for the civil war she was a special woman that helped a lot. She was also a spy for the union during the civil war she gathered lots of information and gave it to the union soldiers. She was also a slave in Maryland he family tried to remember her birth date 1820 or 1819 .That's why she was include in the war . -
Uncle Toms Cabin
One event that caused the civil war to happen was a novel that was Uncles toms cabin. Harriet Beecher wrote this novel she was a teacher in the female academy . The novel was about a African American that was named Uncle tom and It talked about how slavery effected most slaves. This novel was written in 1852 and it was published March 20th 1852.it was one of the best selling novel after the bible it caused a lot of drama that touched a lot of people. That's why it caused the civil war to happen. -
John Browns Raid in Harpers Ferry
John Browns Raid on Harpers Ferry was an effect to the civil war. John was born 1800 May 9th. John raided Harpers Ferry 1859 in Virginia. He raided harpers ferry because he thought that slavery was not right. Since John did not have the money to pay for the weapons abolitionist joined him and gave him the weapons and money. Johns's raid failed of course and he got captured. While John wanted slaves to help him win but they stood back and did there work. That is why it effected the civil war . -
Abraham lincons election
One of the causes that caused the civil war to start was when Abraham Lincoln was elected for president. Abraham Lincoln was elected in 1860 and he was are16 president. Lincoln was born 1890 February12 in Kentucky. He got elected 40% of the popular vote but he was able to defeat the other candidates and he was the first republican to win the election. Most southern states thought that he will take there rights and got mad. That's why Lincolns election was one reason that the civil war started. -
Secession
Secession was a huge effect in the civil war. The First secession state was South Carolina and it was named the Confederate state. The secession was followed four months later by 6 other states that where also called the confederate states these are the states that followed with the secession. Georgia,Florida,Alabama,Mississippi,Texas, and Louisiana. Later followed by Tennessee North Carolina Virginia and Arkansas, so they left the union and they got mad and that's why it effected the civil war.
