  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    The Proclamation of 1763 was signed by King George III, this would forbid any English settlement that was west of the Appalachian mountains. This would hopefully prevent any wars in the future or any wars that would come their way. This required people already settled in those regions to return east to try and settle and ease tensions with the Native Americans.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The Sugar Act was passed along by Parliament to pay for the debt the war had brought on by the French and Indian war. This was also to help pay for any expenses of the running territories or colonies. The act made the duties of sugar, coffee, and more become bigger. This act affected colonies.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    This act was also passed by Parliament striking the first directed tax on American colonies, to cancel the high costs of British military organization in America. This required colonists to pay taxes on every printed page of paper they would use. It taxed a bunch of stuff including newspapers, legal documents, playing cards, and or dice.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    This act allowed the royal troops to stay in empty buildings or houses if the barracks were not available then. If the soldiers outnumbered any colony housing, they would then shelter others in inns, houses or other buildings. This act did impose the cost of foods and housing for soldiers.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    This massacre occurred when a whole mob harassed and attacked British soldiers. Then the soldiers fired their weapons into the crowd or mob killing three people instantly. Then injured six and wounded two others. This was lead by Captain Thomas Preston.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    A group of men that called themselves the "Sons of Liberty" went to the Boston Harbor. These men were dressed as Mohawk Indians most likely wearing leggings. They boarded the three British ships including the Eleanor, the Beaver, and the Dartmouth. Then they proceeded to dump forty-five tons of tea into the Boston Harbor.
  • Boston Port Act

    Boston Port Act
    This closed the port of Boston in 1774 until the price of dumped tea was taken care of and recovered, and moved the capital of Massachusetts to Salem. They had to pay a large fine for the tea. This made Marble head the official port of entry for the Massachusetts colony. This was an act of punishment for Boston.
  • Massachusetts Regulating Act

    Massachusetts Regulating Act
    This act forced all the law officers subject to appointment by the royal governor. He would prohibit any and all town meetings that he did not give approval for. Or that he did not know about. They would need the approval from the royal or they couldn't have the meeting at all. The act also gave the new royal governor to choose new judges, or any sheriffs.
  • Impartial Administration of Justice Act

    Impartial Administration of Justice Act
    The Impartial Administration of Justice Act would allow the royal governor of a colony to move the trials to other colonies. They could even move trials to England, if he was to fear that the juries in those colonies may not judge the case fairly. By passing this act they wanted to ensure a fair trial.
  • Quebec Act

    Quebec Act
    This act granted civil government and religious freedom to the Catholics that were living in Quebec. This act would help ensure the right of the colonists in Quebec to practice Catholicism or their religion. This also made sure the freedom restored French rights.
