Causes of the American Revolution

    The Proclamation was a paper where you were to agree with the terms. King George wanted settlers to avoid the native american region. The reason for this is so the Native Americans didn't get as mad for them to calm down.
  • Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act was passed by the British Parliament. This tax required colonists to pay a tax on everything they printed on paper. The British felt good about this tax because the colonies were receiving a benefit of the British troops and needed to help pay for the expenses, the colonists didn't feel the same way because they felt it was unfair to tax their goods.

    The Parliament signed a paper for the colonies to pay taxes for sugar to help pay for the money they lost from the war. Another fact is that by passing this tax didn't just affect sugar, it also affected coffee, textiles, indigo, and wines.
  • Boston Masssacre

    The Boston Massacre was a mob throwing sticks, snowballs, and rocks, which killed 5 colonists.. It took place on March 5th, 1770 between a mob and British soldiers. The colonists were riding due to the parliament passing the Sugar and Stamp Acts without colonists' representations.

    The Boston Tea Party occurred when American patriots disguised themselves as Mohawk Indians. They dumped 342 chests of tea into the Boston Harbor. Colonists were frustrated about the government imposing the “no taxation without representation.”.
  • Intolerable Acts

    Intolerable Acts
    These were laws passed by the British Parliament to punish the colonists for the Boston Tea Party. One law allowed English soldiers to invade homes of the colonists. Another law closed down the Boston Harbor. American colonists were outraged and refused to follow the laws.
