    The Sugar Act was an act that the British Parliament passed in 1764. It made tax on sugar, molasses and other products way higher if it was brought into the American colonies from non-British sources. This act was intended to stop sugar, molasses, and other products from being smuggled.

    Proclamation of 1763
    The Proclamation of 1763 was an act that the British did so that the British-American colonists couldn’t settle on lands that were claimed from the French after the French and Indian War. This was the British discouraging any west expansion in the decade that came before the American Revolution. The London officials were worried that there was more British-American appearance in the western territory that would motivate Native American violence.

    The Stamp Act was an act that the British did. The British did this act because they were greatly in debt after the 7 Years' War. It was an act that forced tax on all paper documents in the colonies.

    The Boston Massacre is very controversial. It was a riot that ended with 5 people killed and a couple others wounded. Colonists were rioting and protesting and one of the rioters threw a rock at one of the soldiers, this led to the soldiers retaliating and started shooting people that would cause harm. It is controversial because when the colonists wrote the papers they said it was a massacre, massacre is not a word you should use for a couple of dead people. That is why it is controversial.

    The Boston Tea Party was an event that took place on the night of December 16, 1773. This was an act that colonists put on to protest the rising taxes. The colonist dressed up as Native Americans and went onto the ships at Boston Harbor and dumped more than 300 chests into the water. After this, The British made new laws that would punish the colonists.

    The Boston Port Act was an act that the British did to punish the American colonists who participated in the Boston Tea Party. It was an act that closed Boston's harbor until the colonists paid compensation for the tea that was lost. This prevented any loading or unloading onto or off of ships on the harbor.

    The Massachusetts Government Act was an act that the British did. The British put on this act so the colonists had less control over the government. The British did not want the colonists to have any control over the government because they wanted the colonist's tax money and when the colonists tried to control the government, they would lower the taxes.

    The Administration of Justice Act was an act that the British did to help British officials. This act made sure there was a fair trial for the British officials who were accused of capital offenses (punishment that could be a death penalty). They were accused of capital offenses while confirming the law and killing protesters.

    The Quartering Act was an act that the British did to punish the colonists and help the British soldiers. The British would have their soldiers live in the colonists house along with eating the colonists food and using the colonists personal things. If the house was not big enough to house a certain number of soldiers they would be housed in the colonists barns, and other buildings that the colonists owned.
