  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    The Proclamation of 1763 was an act signed by king George the third that didn't alowed anyone to settle past the Appalachian Mountains. This act made it so you can't settle past the Appalachian Mountains and if you were already there you would have to come back to the 13 colonies. This caused a lot of anger in the colonies because everything had worked to get isn't alowed anymore.

    The sugar act of 1764 was a modified version of the molasses act of 1733. The Sugar Act reduced the rate of tax on molasses from six pence to three pence per gallon.
  • The Stamp Act

    the Stamp Act was the first direct tax on the colonies in 150 years. The act was to help the British army with money, to station British troops in the colonies for the seven year war .
  • The Boston Massacre

    In 1770 an angry mob blamed the British for losing there jobs. One of the British soldiers Is struck with a club and they start to open fire killing 5 colonists. The event caused a chain of events that led to the revolutionary war.

    On december 16 1773 "The sons of libearty" Boraded The Beaver, The eleanor, and The Dartmouth and dumped 45 tons of tea. The british appealed all taxes but the tax on tea but that was not enough for The people. The act later made the British make the Boston Port act.
  • The Boston Port Act

    The Boston Port  Act
    After the Boston tea party the British made the Boston port act to recover the money lost. The act closed the Boston port ( which at the time was the most used port) until the money of the lost tea was made back. This moved the capital of Massachsetts to Salem and made Marble head the offical port of Massachsetts.

    The act restructured the Massachusetts government to give the royal more power. This act made the royal in Massachusetts more powerful and harder to get put in jail. The act gave the king the sole power to appoint and dismiss the council.
  • Administration of Justice Act

    The act was designed to keep Britain's jurisdiction over the American colonies. The Act allowed the royal people made governor to remove any placed on a royal official by colonies, if the governor did not believe the officia would have a fair trial. The patriots belived that any official could get away with anything.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    The Quartering Act was an act that let any British troops live in your house. You would have to let a British troop in your house you would have to feed, give a bed, and make sure they were healthy. The troop would take a bed ( Even if it is your only bed in the house), they could eat all your food and you would make no money from that.
  • The Quebec Act

    The Quebec Act
    Let catholic civilians in Quebec have Civil goverment and religious freedom. The colonies wanted this and the British didn't let them but the people in Quebec could have it. The act was just to make the colonies mad because it really didn't change anything.
