    The Proclamation Line of 1763
    The Proclamation Line of 1763 was a line King George ||| created which proclaimed that the colonists could not move west of the Appalachian Mountains. This line was significant because the colonists could not move into the land they just fought for in a war.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The Sugar Act was an act passed by British Parliament that put an import tax on all sugar and molasses and gave illegal smugglers that were caught big punishments. The colonists thought the British had no right to tax them without popular consent and some traders protested by smuggling these goods.

    This act required colonists to pay a tax with silver to have an official stamp put on paper items and all legal documents, including newspapers, licences, and playing cards. The colonists reacted by boycotting, which eventually led to the formation of the Sons of Liberty.

    This act required colonists to house British troops that were enforcing the Proclamation Line, and give them food and other supplies. This saved Britain a lot of money, but the colonists protested angrily and argued that it violated their rights.

    The Boston Massacre was a fight between the colonists and some British troops where the colonists started throwing snowballs, rocks, and clubs at the British and the British fired back with guns when they thought they heard their commander yell "shoot". After the event, Sam Adams and the Sons of Liberty spread the story with a bias view against the British troops, known as propaganda.

One act closed the port of Boston, one act gave British soldiers murder trials in Britain, one act strengthened the Quarting Act, and the last act appointed a governor for Massachusetts and took away thier right to govern themselves.

    The First Continental Congress was a meeting held by representatives from all the colonies exept Georgia including John and Sam Adams, George Washington, and Patrick Henry at Carpenters Hall in Philadelphia. At the meeting, representatives called for the repeal of the Intolerable Acts, new boycotts, and minutemen to be trained in each of the colonies.

    Battles of Lexington and Concord
    These battles started when 900 British troops going to sieze a weapon stash and arrest rebel leaders encountered 60 militia men in Lexington and the first shot of the American Revolution was fired,"shot heard round the wourld".After 8 patriots were dead and 10 were wounded, the British troops reached Concord but started to burn buildings when they found out the weapons had been hidden.1000 militia men then came and surrounded Concord, forcing the the British troops to retreat to Boston.
