Causes of the American Revolution

  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    The British wanted more land in the new world. Not only did the
    British want land but France and the Indians. The British and the French both wanted to take land from the Indians.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    This was an act to keep the colonist settling further towards the Appalachian mountains The British were worried that the colonist were trying to expand and break away.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    This act required colonists to pay for an official stamp when they bought paper items. The British were trying to tax the colonists because they were protecting them and fighting wars.
  • The Tea Act

    The Tea Act
    The British found that the India tea company wasn’t selling its tea so they shipped it to America. The British were trying to find another to stop illegal smuggling of tea by selling this cheap tea.
  • Intolerable Acts

    The British prime minister was furious about the
    Boston tea party so he Punished them with laws
    The British were mad and lost a lot of money so they wanted to try and get the new world back in order
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    Colonist dressed up as Indians bordered English ships and dumped many pounds of tea. I thought this was a big act that showed the British how they felt and was a turning point in the revolution.

    This means that America was free from British and they have the right to do what they want.I was happy that America is now free from the British and now we won’t have to pay taxes anymore.
