Causes of the American revolution

  • The Sugar Act

    The sugar act was taxed .The Britains needed the money for the french and indian war and the colonists were not ok with this new tax.No taxation without representation was the result slogan of the sugar act.The slogan meant they couldn't tax without colonists.The boycotts were effective because they kept the people from making money.

  • The stamp act

    All types of paper :licenses,playing cards,contracts,etc.Britain needed the money because they needed to pay debts from the french and indian war.No the colonists werent ok with the new tax.The secret society resulted in the sons of liberty.The secret society tried to frighten the tax collecters. London Merchants pressured parliament to repeal the stamp act.They started losing money because of the colonial boycotts.
