The end of the French & Indian War
The Britsh overcame the French and was able to move them North. The causes the British to have tons of dept which they blindly taxed the colonies to help pay their dept off. -
The Stamp Act
One of the acts Britain set on the Americans because they needed money to repay the debts they owed after the French-Indian War. The Stamp Act was the first act where the colonists were directly taxed, and this infuriated the Americans of course. The Stamp Act basically said that all documents, papers, etc. of the sort must have a stamp on it to be legal. -
Declaratory Act
The Declaratory Act was an act of the Parliament of Great Britain. The Declaratory Act stated that Parliament's authority was the same in the American colonies as it was in Britain and asserted Parliaments authority to pass laws that would be effecting the American colonies. -
The Boston Massacre
Riot that happened in the city of Boston in which British soldiers fired on a group of unarmed American colonists. The incident was one of the events that led to outbreak of the American Revolution in 1775. -
The Tea Act
The Tea Act was passes by Parliament. They put higher taxes on tea which the colonies didn’t like. This happened while the British still had control over America. When the Parliament did this they were trying to keep peace over the colonies while still showing that they had control over them. The Tea Act was a conflict between the British and the colonies that led to the revolutionary war. -
