  • The Currency Act

    They banned paper or money issues. There was no gold or silver being produced, so by law in Great Britian they could not trade money with teh colonies.
  • French and Indian

    The British government went bankrupt after this war. They needed a lot of money, so they mad the Colonies pay extra taxes and things they don't to do, like buy a certain kind of tea. At this time they started sending petitions for rights that they may not have.
  • Iron Act

    This limited teh colonies purchasing of iron. They tried slowing down America's iron indrustry. They wanted them to buy iron parts from Britain.
  • England and Spain War

    This put the country in even more debt. More taxes are going to be released. Less soldiers you can send over to America. They will be going through three wars in 30 years.
  • Sugar Act

    They had to pay 3 cent tax on any sugar. It was also on other things like coffee and wine. The colonists did not like that they had no say, or that the tax was even coming to the colonies. It was parliment that put it on them. The colonists get very mad at this. They have some violent protests. They were angry that they helped Britain beat the French in the war, but there still getting taxed and treated poorly.
  • Stamp Act

    This tax was directly on the colony. It was a tax on paper, documents, and other smaller supplies. The tax was manly caused by The French and Indian War. The colonists started to tired of it and made violent mobs. Terorised tax collectors.
  • Boston Massacre

    Some colonists where mad about the taxing and surounded some British troups. The soldiers got worried and shot three Americans dead. The colonists were getting mad and violent, so Parliment had to send in troups. The troups that was fighting in Spain and The French and Indian War.
  • Boston Tea Party

    This was an outage by the colonists and the group called the Sons of Liberty on the tea tax implemented by Parliment. The colonists took the tea off of aa ship and tossed it into the Boston Harbor. Colonists in Virgina did something in winter, but they put up the tea into cellars for ir to spoil and go bad.
  • Intolerable Acts

    In this act parliment had stopped all trade in the Boston Hardbor. There were 342 items destroyed by the colonists, and parliment didn't want to deal with it. They could only import wood and food. Parliment said that if they fixed the tea they poured out the habor would open. The habor did open up, an d the colonists did some things to help, but not all that was asked.
  • Land

    The colonists were mad at King George for giving land past Appilation Mountains to the Native Americans. They thought they helped fight that war to get that land. There was no where else to settle, and colonists were getting mad that they did not get a lot of land. One reason so many people are there and not enough space. The other reason is some were big platation owners, and owned a lot of the land.
  • Lexington and Concord

    British troops started to march over to Concord. This is when Paul Revere and other riders went across and yelled, "The British are coming". This colonists did not want them taking over and controling them. They decided to fight back. They were mad about the taxes and other things, but they were not going to be told to do things by redcoats. When the red coats entered the town they were taken by suprise and fired upon. The redcoats retreated, and teh colonists won the battle of Lexington and Con
  • Common Sense

    This was a book written by Thomas Payne. He was all into having a new start with America. The book was for the middle class and lower class people that were going through the toughest time in these taxes and problems. He said government was evil at its best times. The people got more of a push to fight back and relised more about what rights they had.
  • Townshed Boycot

    The people in Townshed refused to buy any imports from Britain. They made everything. The wives worked very hard to make things for the family. Also at this time the newspapers were writing bad things about the act.
