Battle of Tours
The Moors (Muslims) were attempting to aquire and conquer more territory in Europe. Their next target after Spain was Tours France. Charles Martel forced the moors to fight uphil into the trees. After waiting for 6 days, the Moors attacked but Martel's force held firm. This battle was a huge upset, the Moors had approximately 6 times as many troops as Charles Martel's army. -
Charlemange's Coronation
Charlemange was crowned and anointed as Emperor of Rome by Pope Leo III. This was highly controversial because the Roman Empire was split into East and West. -
Lombards Are Defeated
Charlemange defeated the Lombards, making him the first person to unite all of the Germanic Kingdom. -
Pope Leo Runs For Help
In Rome, Pope Leo III is being accused of being corrupt so he runs to Charlemange for help. Together, they return to rome to clear up the situation. -
The Many Murdered
Charlemagne murdered 4,500 Anglo-Saxons for being pagonstic worshippers. Charlemagne wanted Christianity to follow God's will and to not follow more than one god, so Charlemagne murdered the pagonistic Anglo-Saxons.
