Rookie Teacher of the Year
First year of teaching I received the Rookie Teacher-of-the-Year award and was selected to be on a team to create Lake County's first magnet school based on the belief that children learn best by doing. -
First Magnet School In Lake County Florida
Led a team in the development of a hands-on curriculum without the use of textbooks for this brand new magnet school. Set up and ran the first network in Lake County. Trained staff on the use of technology and led professional development session on how tos successfully integrate in the classroom. Also, ran the first website while teaching 4th grade Math, Science and Technology. -
Disney Top Program - Byrnes & Company
Disney reconized Byrnes and Company at the Teacherrific award. Students in my classes created and ran a printing business that mirrored the actual operations of a real business. The students borrowed a $100 from the principal to start their business in less that less than 5 months made over a $1000 profit and paid off their load. -
Child-size Public Supermarket won Judge's Award
