  • Breast Cancer Screening

Breast cancer screening has a few processes connected with it. Once a woman turns 20, they should get a Clinical Breast Exam. • Breast Cancer Screening

At the starting age of 40, women should begin to get mammograms. This test is performed by the breast being gently pressed between two plates which are attached to a mammogram machine. The plates then gently squeeze to get a x-ray image of the cells in the breast to make sure that there is no cancer growth starting. This test should be done about every year until the woman's health begins to decline.
  • Colon Cancer Screening

Colon cancer screeing can be done in a few ways. One way that it can be done is by using a flexible sigmoidoscopy. This process consists of a small flexible tube that is inserted through the rectum. The tube has a small camera on it to scope out the inside of the rectum. It can also see part of the colon to see if there is any type of cancer growth. The colon is one of the hardest areas to detect cancer, so this process should be done every five years once you reach 50.
  • Colon Cancer Screening

Another type of test that can be done once you turn 50 is a FIT test. This test, Fecal Immunochemical test, is used to detect hidden portions of blood that may be collected in your stool. This test is pretty self-explanatory. This test can be done at home. The process involves you contributing stool onto the collection paper. Then, the stool is put into a collection tube, This tube is then mailed into a lab to be tested. This test can also be done once you turn 50 years old.
  • Endometrial Cancer Screening

At this time, there are no specific screenings that can detect endometiral cancer. Some precautions that women can take to try to early detect endometrial cancer are getting frequent pelvic checks and to let their doctors know if they have any vaginal bleeding or spotting. Women in their menopausal stages are at higher risk for this type of cancer.
