This test is for cervical cancer and doctors uses a metal or plastic instrument to keep the vagina open. They will then take a sample of cells and mucus from the exocervix with a spatula. The doctor will also swab the endocervix or vaginal cuff (if your cervix has been removed) and look at the samples under a microscope to identify any cancer or pre-cancer. -

Low-Dose CT Scans- Varies if Even Needed
This test is for lung cancer. However, this test isn't recommended for anyone unless they have family history, have smoked, or still smoke.The low-dose spiral CT scan continuously rotates in a spiral motion and takes several 3-dimensional X-rays of the lungs. The doctors will then look at the scans for any sign of cancerous tissue. -
Proctoscopy- Varies How Often
This diagnostic test if for the colon and is performed by a doctor using a tube with a video camera on it to see if there are any signs of cancer. There are many other tests for this type of cancer, however. One usually doesn't have this test unless they have family history or any other suspicions. -
