    Charter of Rights and Freedom
    In 1982, the Queen and the Right Honorable Pierre Trudeau, Prime Minister, marked the Constitution Act, 1982, which incorporates the British North America Act and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. The Charter ensures certain political rights and civil rights to Canadian residents, from the policies and activities of all regions and levels of government. The Charter was marked into law by Queen Elizabeth II of Canada and alongside whatever is left of the Act.
  • Patriation of the Constitution

    Trudeau wanted constitutional amendment including the charter of rights and freedom. Quebec didnt agree and a meeting was held without Quebec. Due to these acts, Quebec felt betrayed.

    In 1999, under the Inuit and the federal government for Nunavut from the Northwest independence, becoming the third area in Canada.Nunavut, "our land" in Inuktitut in meaning.There are three districts: Ji Dike US Ott area, Kivalliq Region, Qikiqtaaluk Region. Nunavat joins canada in being a territory.
