Canadian Football
The Winnipeg rugby club was formed on may 14th at the anual meeting of the MFRU. The team played as the Winnipegs and adopted the colours of green and white. They played their first game on Sept 29th under floodlights. -
British Empire Games
The first event was held in Hamilton, Canada in 1930. These games were known as the British Empire games. The games were held between August 16-23 1930 and included over 400 athletes from 11 countries. -

The GMC Buick was built by Smith Body works Ltd. in Toronto using the chasis og a 1931 McLaughlin Buick. -
Imperial Economic Conference
Canada hosted the first Imperial Economic Conference that wasn't in London. A system of proffessional tarriffs was created for the empire. As a result, Canada maintained considerable market share in Britain and throughout the Empire during the great depression. -
Toronto Maple Leafs play in the Stanley Cup
The 1933 Stanley cup finals was played between the New York Rangers and the Toronto Maple Leafs in the rematch of the 1932 final. The Rangers won the series 3-1 to win their second stanley cup. -
