When: the Chinese act happened during 1882
Why: Because they said that the Chinese were taking away jobs from the white people so they made the Chinese pay heavy taxes and Chinese fathers who were living in Canada could not bring their families becuase Canada wants to limit the amount of immigrants entering into Canada. -

Why: Because women didn't like the fact that they weren't allowed to vote and the men were allowed it wasn't fair, that also displays a sign of inequality so they took this argument/case to the supreme court of Canada which they were now denied; they said that women were not "persons" so they went to great Britain and they overruled the courts say . -

Child labour laws
Who: the children were working at a young age
What: children were being deprived of school to go to work and make little money for the family
When: This happened during the late 19th century and early 20th century
Why: This was going on because families were really poor so they sent there children to go work in factories, mills and mines and this was really dangerous because the machinery they were using and for mines because of what they were inhaling. -
Spanish flu
Who: The Scientists said that the Spanish flu went form birds to pigs down to humans.
What: This was a disease that started in 1918 that scientists didn't really know about and didn't know how to treat it.
When: This started to happen during the year 1918 - 1919
Why: So some wounded soldiers or soldiers would bring dome diseases back to Canada and their children will get the flu and it will keep on spreading and during this time 50,000 Canadians died of the Flu. -

Who: the workers in Winnipeg
What: It was a protest for better pay for the worker
When: May 1st, 1919
Why: Because workers in Winnipeg were not paid well jobs and then they started taking it too far by wrecking cars and it turned into one giant mob and then the police got involved to try and stop the violence to they rode on their horses and started civilians innocent children and men and women and it was truly a bloody Saturday. -

What: Canada denied more people to Canada because they wanted more people from England and white Americans
When: This was happening in the year 1919
Why: The reason why Canada made this policy was that they wanted people to form England and the US to come to their country because they more of there kind to come to Canada and live there and they didn't want any other race because of fear of communist. -
Crop failure
Who: The farmers in Saskatchewan
What: it was the great depression plants were not growing farmers had to look for work
When: This was happening during 1920's
Why: This was happening because it wouldn't rain very often, plants would be grow, no body had money to grow plants or buy the crops, so farmers abandoned the farm to look for work to make some money and there would be these dust storms that will occur due to wind. -

When: Graham Bell made the first phone on March 7, 1920
Why: the reason why Graham Bell created the telephone was to make service easier than always talking in person and this wasn't always cheap it was only for people who were wealthy and can afford it. -

Who: William Lyon Mackenzie King
What: It was the rise of radio and Canadians were mostly listening to American radio
When: 1920 - 1928
Why: The reason why Canada was listening to American Radio was because they were many lines that were on for example dramas, comedies, sports etc. but Canada wanted Canadians to listen to Canadian radio so William Lyon Mackenzie king the prime minister of Canada at the time and then The prime minister Broadcasted on the radio and more people listened everytime -

Who: Frederick Banting was the person who had the idea of Insulin
What: Discovery of Insulin for diabetic patients
When: it was during the year 1921 - 1923
Why: To help fight Diabetes because this was a new disease that they didn't know how to cure or treat they were still learning so this was all new to them so Frederick banting found out that Insulin helps with Diabetes and that's how insulin is used for patients until now. -

Who: the Germans were starting to become fascists
What: the frustration about the treaty of Versailles
When: This was taking place year 1922
Why: it all started because of the frustration of the treaty of Versailles it made Germany really poor so during this time they wanted a leader to lead them out o this depression then Adolf Hitler came and started the rise of fascists -
Residential schools
Who: Duncan Campbell Scott was the leader of the operation for residential schools.
What: A school for Indian children to go to learn English, act English and be English
When: 1923-1939
Why: Because they get the Indian problem out of the way they couldn't kill them so they built these schools to take their Indian culture away from children so they can act like them if they speak there native tongue they will be punished. a lot of children were abused and raped during this time -

Who: The Canadian government enforced this act
What: This was the start of assimilation for the Indian people
When: the assimiilation of Indian people started in the Late 19th century
Why: Because they want to make them act like white people so all the problems can stop between them and Canada so they gave them a choice act like us or don't be like us at all. -
Stock market
Who: The stock markets
What: They were selling stocks and they kept loosing money
When: The stock market crashed 1929
Why: they started selling stocks because the financial experts said that the markets were" Financially sound".
How: because they trusted the financial experts they kept on selling the stocks then the stock market went plummeting down and that's the great depression started. -
Regina Riot
Who: The unemployed workers of Regina
What : the unemployed workers were causing chaos for Bennet( Prime minister) and his relief camps
When: This happened during June 14 , 1930
Why: Because workers were expecting bennet to help them get out of this depression so he made relief camps but they didn't do anything so people started Riots and then it came to a point that another election happened then Bennet was tossed out.
