General Belisarius Military Campaigns
Belisarius first battle was the "battle of Dara". The battle of Dara was started by Kavadh l the emperor of Persia that wanted to make peace with the Byzantines, he had wanted Justin l to adopt his son but he said no along with his nephew, Justinian l. Justinian l sent Sittas and Belisarius into Persia and were defeated. Justinian then tried to make peace but instead Kavadh sent troops to Dara. Then later Belisarius defeated the Persians . -

Emperor Alexis l contacts Pope Urban ll
Alexis contacted Pope Urban ll to get people to go against the Muslims. Pope Urban ll gave a speech to the christians to go against the muslims and fight. Alexis needed people for protection from the invasion by Seljuk Turks. When they were safe he sent the military to go capture the holy land in Jerusalem to free the western Christians. They didn't complete this until the first crusade, 1099 -

In the fourth crusade the goal of the christians was team up with Venice and to win back the holy city of Jerusalem in Egypt. Venice agreed to help as long as they helped export. The christians never made it to Egypt, instead they attacked a weather Christian city called, Constantinople. The crusaders won the fourth crusade. -

Fall of Constantinople to the Ottoman Turks
The Byzantine emperor was one of the strongest in military. They were battling many of their enemies while protecting themselves. Their capital Constantinople, captured many of groups attention especially the Ottoman Turks for their gold. The Byzantines were slowly declining financially because of military disasters in other cities. The Ottoman Turks invaded the capital and won because most of their military wasn't in Constantinople
