Build up to the Revolution

  • The French and Indian war

    This war was fought between the French and Native Americans and Great Britain.Even though the british were outnumbered the still were able to win and get all of North america with the help from the prussians.
  • The Sugar Act

    With british now victorious against the French And The Indians britain needs to pay their debt to the prussians.So the Royalist based the Sugar Act which put taxes on the sugar in attempt to gain more money.
  • The Stamp Act

    In addition to the Sugar Act the royalist based the stamp act which put taxes on any form of business letters you were trying to transport.
  • The Townshend Act

    The townshend act was created by a man named Charles Townshend which put taxes on oil,lead,glass and many more needs throughout the colonies.
  • The Tea Act

    The tea act put taxes on the tea that the colonist used.This made the colonist very angry and soon led to the boston tea party.
  • The Boston Tea Party

    The boston tea party was when colonist led by Samuel Adams went onto three ships and dumped 342 chest of tea into the boston harbor.
  • The Intolerable Acts

    These acts were made to punish the colonist for dumping the tea into the boston harbor.
  • The Battle of Lexington And Concord

    This marked the start of the American Revolution and also has the saying "The Shot Heard Around The World".
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    This was a climax of the revolution and was one of the victories for the colonist.
