1st Day: Monday, 16th. October
Meet and greet session. Introducing ourselves as well as our centres. In second period we had the first Challenge class: We worked on creating powerpoint presentations about our respective schools and, after that, we introduced our centres to our classmates and teacher using the images on the ppt document we had just made.
In the afternoon we were presented some ideas, warmers, fill-in and ice-breaker activities to use in the ESL lessons. -
2nd. Day: Tuesday, 17th. October
We discussed the topic of Digital Literacy. The we talked about online safety. On the second sesión we talked about our evaluation criteria. Finally, we were presented the Project Based Learning and the SPRE (Situation, Problem, Response and Evaluation) methods.
Regarding the Social Programme, in the evening, I joined the Brighton Walking Tour around the city. It was a good idea, since I could get to know how to move about the city as well as some History and Art facts. -
3rd. Day: Wednesday, 18th. October
This lesson was particularly fruitful for me, due to the fact that I got some input on Listening and Speaking tools, apps and websites to use in my class. On second period we were given some free time to explore them and get started on the different tools and on the final lesson we had a workshop to put everything into practice. This is the list we were given to work out. -
4th. Day Thursday, 19th. October
This day was devoted to Evidence Based Teaching Methodology. First of all, we had a demo lesson and, after the break, we had the unpacking of the lesson and faced with some actual facts. At the end we could debate about our ideas with respect to this new methodology based on the scientific method.
In the evening, I joined a Conversation Club arranged by the school as a part of its social programme. It was lovely to meet some new people from so many different nationalities. -
5th. Day Friday, 20th. October
This was a very interesting day as well, since we were given loads of very useful Reading and Writing Resources. As always, we had some time to explore the different links we were offered so we could decide which of them were more suitable for our students. And, after lunch, there was a workshop on the topic.
When we finished our lesson, we could go on an excursion to Devil’s Dycke. Writing and Reading

We worked on Infographics. First, we could learn how to use some tools and apps. On second period we had to make our own products using one of the resources suggested by our teacher. After lunch break we attended a WEBMINAR by Cambridge University, titled “Using Digital Tools to Encourage Learner Autonomy in the Classroom”. It was the first time I attended a Webminar and I found it very interesting. -
9th. Day Tuesday, 24th. October
This day was devoted to the Teaching of Grammar and Vocabulary through Technology. Our teacher presented the lesson in a way I particularly liked. He used Thinglink.com , this tool allows you to upload a picture and edit it. You can label the picture and create links to different applications. Using a picture, our teacher, introduced many useful resources and tools, such as: -
