The Sugar Act
British taxed goods, such as wine and sugar, to help secure the colonists. British also saw it as a way to make the colonists only sell their goods to Britain. -
Boycotting
The colonists wasn't going to accept the way British was treating them with The Sugar Act, so they decide to boycott against British goods. They also influenced others into doing the same thing. This scheme united the colonists because they opposed against the Sugar Act. -
The Currency Act
The Currency Act banned the use of paper money in all the colonies. In passing this act, the British government attempted to have greater control of the colonies.
