The Boston Tea Party
Colonists attempted to prevent the unloading of a cargo of tea that arrived in the Boston Harbor. The protesters then ripped open 342 chests of tea and dumped them into the harbor. In response, the British closed the harbor to all trade. -

Start of the Revolutionary war
On this day, fighting broke out between Great Britian and the American colonies. On that day, British troops marched to the towns of Lexington and Concord in Massachusetts. Their army was supposed to capture hiddden guns and suplies by surprise, but warnings were let out to the Americans. The Americans then firedon the British and forced them back to Boston. This was the beginning of th Revolutionary War. -
